MarRI-UK joins MarLEN project

The MarLEN project, led by Forschungszentrum JÜLICH, has secured funding of €1.5 million from the European Union (EU) and brings together partners from 10 European countries.

In a statement announcing its participation in the project, MarRI-UK said: ‘The maritime sector faces urgent climate and environmental challenges, and projects like MarLEN are crucial for accelerating the transition to sustainable, zero-emission technologies. By enhancing transnational cooperation and consolidating efforts across Europe, MarLEN will contribute to shaping a cleaner, more innovative future for the maritime industry.’

MarRI-UK added that MarLEN ‘aligns closely’ with the goals of the Zero Emission Waterborne Transport (ZEWT) partnership, which aims to develop and demonstrate zero-emission solutions for all main ship types and services by 2030.
