Shipping Container with Half a Ton of Cocaine Seized in the Port of Algeciras
On June 7, Civil guard of Spain and the police reportedly seized nearly half a ton of cocaine at the port of Algeciras, province of Cadiz.
The Container with 498 kilos of the drug, tracked from Colombia, was intercepted at the port. In that operation nine people were arrested and 15 addresses were raided.
During the same operation, a search was conducted in 15 different locations in several provinces of the country. Police recovered nine luxury cars, weapons, 55 thousand euros in cash.
The investigation was carried out by both the security forces after getting a tip off from reliable sources about the ship carrying the container, which was expected to arrive in the port of Algeciras with drugs and later planned to be sold across Europe.
The investigation continues, there may be more arrests. The detainees are accused of a crime against public health.
