According to Baird Maritime, Ocean Infinity has expanded its capabilities with the delivery of Armada 86 01, the first of a series of 85-meter robotic vessels. Built by Vard, this vessel is designed to support a diverse range of maritime operations and aligns with Ocean Infinity’s goal of sustainable operations by incorporating green ammonia fuel technology.
Innovative Design and Capabilities
The DP2 steel-hulled multirole vessel is equipped to perform geophysical surveys, geotechnical sampling, inspection, maintenance, and repair services. It is compatible with Ocean Infinity’s remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), seabed drills, and cone penetration testing (CPT) systems, ensuring versatility in underwater operations.
Advanced Deployment Features
Armada 86 01 includes a removable aft bulwark for over-the-stern deployment of Ocean Infinity’s autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) fleet. The vessel is further equipped with a moonpool featuring a modular Launch and Recovery System (LARS) that is fully automated and remotely operable via Ocean Infinity’s Remote Control Centre (RCC) network.
Accommodation and Crew Facilities
Designed for efficiency and comfort, the vessel can accommodate up to 16 crewmembers and payload personnel, enabling seamless operation and support for its advanced systems. This addition reflects Ocean Infinity’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in maritime technology.
