Maximar Joins AtoB@C Shipping’s Hybrid Fleet

AtoB@C Shipping continues its commitment to fleet renewal and sustainability with the delivery of the Maximar, its fifth plug-in hybrid vessel. The ship was delivered on December 20 in Goa, India, as part of an ambitious program to modernize the fleet.

Progress in the Fleet Renewal Program

The delivery of Maximar follows the launch of Terramar on December 3, 2024, which is scheduled for delivery in early 2025. With twelve vessels ordered from Chowgule & Company, AtoB@C Shipping is nearing the halfway point of its program, with one vessel expected each quarter until 2026.

Sustainable and Efficient Design

Maximar is equipped with hybrid propulsion and shore power connectivity, allowing for emission-free port operations. Battery integration reduces noise and CO2 emissions, contributing to a nearly 50% reduction in emissions per cargo unit compared to the older fleet.

Capabilities for Year-Round Operations

With a deadweight tonnage of 5,400 and an ice class rating of 1A, the Maximar is tailored for efficient, year-round operations in the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe. Its design emphasizes sustainability without compromising performance.

The addition of Maximar reflects AtoB@C Shipping’s dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility in maritime transport.
