  • Scienco/FAST and UniBallast launched the portable InTankFITT Container for efficient ballast water treatment.
  • The system is housed in a shipping container, providing portability and shared use across multiple vessels.
  • InTank ensures regulatory compliance through automated treatment checks and easy-to-read reports.
  • The solution is scalable and flexible, ideal for retrofits and temporary applications.

Scienco/FAST and UniBallast, B.V. have introduced the InTankFITT Container, a portable version of their filterless Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS), InTank. This innovative solution is designed to meet the increasing regulatory and operational demands in ballast water management, according to Marine Link.

Compact, Portable Design

The InTankFITT Container comes preassembled and housed in a standard shipping container, enabling it to be easily transported and deployed. This design allows the treatment system to be shared between multiple vessels or barges that do not require regular ballast water treatment.

Regulatory Compliance

InTank provides automated treatment checks, ensuring compliance with regulations. Treatment results are recorded, and easy-to-read reports are made available to the crew, port authorities, and customers, simplifying discharge processes and compliance verification.

Operational Efficiency

The filterless design reduces the complexity of the treatment process, minimizing operational downtime and maintenance. By being fitted to a port-based ballast water reception barge, the InTank system makes the intake of water from discharging vessels straightforward.

Scalable and Flexible Solution

The InTankFITT Container is ideal for retrofits or temporary applications. Its compact design allows it to be housed in a standard 20-foot container, making worldwide shipping feasible. The system’s flexibility ensures it can be mounted on deck or placed on a temporary platform during operation.
