EMF and Daehan Shipbuilding Name Four New LR2 Tankers in Korea

Daehan Shipbuilding and European Maritime Finance (EMF) celebrated the naming of four LR2 115,000 DWT tankers, in collaboration with their long-term partner Atlas Maritime. The name-giving ceremony, a traditional event marking a vessel’s readiness for service, was held at the Daehan Shipbuilding Yard. The vessels were named Stavanger Star, Oslo Star, Copenhagen Star, and Athenian Star, with hull numbers 5090, 5091, 5092, and 5093, according to European Maritime Finance.

Symbolic Ceremony and Industry Attendance

The ceremony, featuring the symbolic breaking of a champagne bottle for good luck, was attended by key partners, investors, bankers, Clarkson’s, and associates. The vessels, built to IMO A-rated and ECO class standards, reflect a commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge maritime technology.
