Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE: DSX), a global shipping company specialising in the ownership and bareboat charter-in of dry bulk vessels, has announced that it has entered into a time charter agreement through a wholly-owned subsidiary. The agreement is with SwissMarine Pte. Ltd., Singapore, for its Capesize dry bulk vessel, the m/v New York, reports Diana Shipping Inc.

Details About the m/v New York

The m/v New York is a Capesize dry bulk vessel with a carrying capacity of 177,773 dwt. This vessel was built in 2010 and will significantly contribute to the fleet operations of Diana Shipping Inc. during the charter period.

Fleet Overview

Diana Shipping Inc. currently operates a fleet of 38 dry bulk vessels, comprising 4 Newcastlemax, 8 Capesize, 5 Post-Panamax, 6 Kamsarmax, 6 Panamax, and 9 Ultramax vessels. The Company’s combined carrying capacity, excluding new builds, is approximately 4.2 million dwt, with a weighted average fleet age of 11.28 years.

The Company is also expanding its fleet with the planned delivery of two methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels. These vessels are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, further enhancing the Company’s capacity and sustainability initiatives.
