Svitzer, a leading provider of towage and marine services, has announced the signing of a significant 9-year terminal towage contract with Oman Liquefied Natural Gas LLC (Oman LNG). This new agreement strengthens Svitzer’s presence in Oman and reflects its commitment to providing reliable and safe towage services in the region.

Supporting Oman LNG’s Operations at Qalhat LNG Terminal

Under the terms of the contract, Svitzer will deploy four newbuild azimuth stern drive tugs with a 65-ton bollard pull to assist in the berthing and unberthing of LNG and NGL tankers at the Qalhat LNG Terminal jetty. The comprehensive scope of services also includes firefighting capabilities, escort duties, pilot boarding, and dive support, ensuring smooth and efficient operations at the terminal.

A Strong Partnership with Oman LNG

Svitzer’s operations for Oman LNG are set to commence in 2026. This contract represents a critical milestone in Svitzer’s ongoing operations in Oman, where the company has been a key marine services provider since 2005. The new partnership further solidifies Svitzer’s position as a trusted service provider in the region.
