Strategic Marine, a leading provider of specialised aluminium vessels, has signed a new contract with Odyssey Group to build a state-of-the-art multi-purpose survey vessel. The vessel will incorporate the latest technological advancements for enhanced operational use in Australia, reports Strategic Marine.

A Custom-Built Vessel for Enhanced Marine Exploration

Under the agreement, Strategic Marine will construct an advanced survey vessel tailored to meet Odyssey Group’s specific operational needs. The vessel will feature cutting-edge technology, including gyro-stabilization for improved vessel stability and operational efficiency. A moon pool will be integrated for the launching and recovery of survey equipment, while a reinforced aft deck will accommodate a possible future A-frame installation. These features will significantly enhance marine exploration, research, and survey tasks.

Advanced Features and Operational Capabilities

The vessel will also include a deck crane, an open transom with rollers, and a tugger winch to facilitate buoy servicing. It will be powered by twin Caterpillar C18 engines and propellers, complemented by twin bow thrusters for superior manoeuvrability. With an overall length (LOA) of 24 meters, the vessel will comply with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Class 1E and 2B survey regulations, enabling both passenger transport and offshore operations.
