Basalt Infrastructure Partners (“Basalt”) has signed an agreement to expand its Vanadis LNG platform by adding a state-of-the-art, 180,000 CBM LNG carrier. This addition brings the Vanadis fleet to three vessels, aligning with Basalt’s strategic objective of scaling its LNG operations and building new charter relationships. The investment enhances the platform’s ability to support global energy security and meet the rising demand for LNG transportation, according to Basalt on LinkedIn.

Long-Term Charter with JERA

Scheduled for delivery in 2027, the newly built LNG carrier will operate under a long-term fixed-time charter with JERA Co., Inc., one of Japan’s leading energy companies. This partnership underscores Basalt’s commitment to collaborating with reputable energy players and leveraging strong operational expertise to ensure reliable LNG supply.

State-of-the-Art Construction and Technology

The vessel will be constructed at Samsung Heavy Industries, a globally renowned shipyard recognized for its advanced shipbuilding capabilities. It will feature the latest X-DF propulsion technology, offering industry-leading fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. By integrating cutting-edge engineering, the vessel will support cleaner and more sustainable LNG transportation.

Operational Excellence with Celsius Shipping

Celsius Shipping, Basalt’s long-standing operating partner across its Vanadis and Freyja LNG portfolios, will manage and operate the vessel. This continued partnership ensures seamless fleet integration and operational consistency, reinforcing Basalt’s position in the LNG sector.
