ONE is collaborating with Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN) to embrace the Digital Container Shipping Association’s (DCSA) eBL standard. This will speed up the adoption of eBL by ONE’s customers. As part of this collaboration, ONE will incorporate the recent December 2024 release of the eBL standard, allowing customers to handle eBLs across various carriers on GSBN’s blockchain-based platform through a single identity, reports Smart Maritime Network.
Commitment to Digitalisation and Customer Experience
“We are committed to enriching the overall customer experience through our range of offerings and continued digitalisation efforts,” said Kosuke Wada, Executive Vice President of ONE.
“We envision a future of paperless international trade and are actively developing eBL solutions to provide a seamless and efficient customer experience. This focus on innovation will drive operational efficiency, strengthen collaboration with our ecosystem partners, and deliver added value to our customers.”
Strengthening Industry eBL Adoption
ONE is the second DCSA member to join with GSBN to achieve 100% eBL adoption, after the announcement by Hapag-Lloyd in April 2024. It also joins COSCO, OOCL, and Hapag-Lloyd as among the four major carriers issuing eBLs via GSBN.
Driving Industry-Wide Digital Transformation
“As the industry adapts towards an era of increasing uncertainty, the eBL has become an important enabler of resilience and value creation,” said Bertrand Chen, CEO of GSBN.
“ONE has been a pioneer in adopting digital innovations, continuously advancing digitalisation to forge new value propositions for their customers. At GSBN, we want to enable our Members such as ONE to reach their digitalisation goals in the most scalable and robust manner.”
“We look forward to further development within our ecosystem to reinforce the overall value of eBL for all of our Members.”
