BLG LOGISTICS and COSCO SHIPPING CARRIERS have entered into a strategic partnership, formalizing their cooperation at the end of 2024. This collaboration aims to enhance the handling and transportation of automotive and high & heavy goods from China to Europe. Under the agreement, BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven (ATB) will serve as a crucial entry point for Chinese automotive imports into Germany, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Baltic states.

Bremerhaven as a Key Hub for COSCO SHIPPING CAR CARRIERS

Recognizing Bremerhaven’s significance for Chinese vehicle manufacturers, COSCO SHIPPING CAR CARRIERS is integrating the port into its liner service with a minimum of two scheduled calls per month. “For Chinese manufacturers, Bremerhaven plays a crucial role as a port of entry into the European market. In particular, efficient logistical access to the German market – one of the most important sales markets for vehicle manufacturers – is of key importance,” stated COSCO SHIPPING CAR CARRIERS.

BLG LOGISTICS to Provide Comprehensive Supply Chain Solutions

Through this partnership, BLG LOGISTICS will offer its extensive network to COSCO SHIPPING CARRIERS and Chinese manufacturers, ensuring seamless logistics from production plants in China to dealerships across Europe. This integrated approach provides importers with end-to-end logistics solutions from a single source.

Adapting to Market Developments

BLG LOGISTICS is focused on aligning with evolving market requirements by catering to both traditional customers and new importers. “For an open handling port like Bremerhaven, it is important to adapt to current market developments. This means that we have to take into account the changing requirements of our traditional customers and at the same time create efficient logistics solutions for new importers. We are therefore very pleased that BLG’s network advantage – the combination of seaport terminals, inland terminals, value-adding technical services and transport by road and rail – has been recognised by COSCO SHIPPING CARRIERS in the interests of Chinese manufacturers. The signed agreement shows that our partner appreciates the depth of service and the cross-network service offering of BLG and wants to create the corresponding benefits for our joint customers,” said Axel Bantel, Managing Director Sales at BLG Automobile Logistics.

BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven: A Global Automotive Hub

Handling, transporting, or processing approximately 1.5 million vehicles annually, BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven stands as one of the world’s largest car terminals. The 295-hectare facility can accommodate around 70,000 vehicles before they continue their journey via road, rail, or water. Additionally, the site houses three technical centers, offering a range of automotive services directly at the terminal, ensuring efficiency for manufacturers and importers.
