Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) and DongHwa Entec (DHE) are partnering to develop and install a High-Pressure (HP) Compressor for an 18,000 TEU LNG-fueled container ship being built at NTS Shipyard in China. This collaboration aims to improve LNG fuel gas supply systems and demonstrates the companies’ dedication to sustainability and technological advancements, reports Eastern Pacific Shipping.

Enhancing Sustainability

Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) and DongHwa Entec (DHE) are collaborating to enhance the sustainability of LNG-fueled vessels.

  • EPS’s Goal: EPS aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by optimizing the use of Boil-Off Gas (BOG) to improve fuel efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
  • DHE’s Contribution: DHE will integrate a High-Pressure (HP) Compressor, enabling the vessel to directly channel BOG into the main engine, reducing emissions and maximizing fuel efficiency.
  • DHE’s Expansion: This project marks a significant milestone for DHE in advancing LNG fuel technology. Their affiliate, DongHwa Pneutec, will expand its product range to include HP Compressors, building upon their expertise in Low-Pressure (LP) Compressors.
  • Shared Vision: The collaboration reflects EPS and DHE’s shared commitment to a greener maritime industry through innovation, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
  • Sustainable Shipping: Both companies are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sustainable shipping by advancing LNG fuel technologies.
