BSM Singapore Welcomes First LNG Dual-Fuel Car Carrier, TRANS HARMONY GREEN

BSM Singapore has added the first LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), TRANS HARMONY GREEN, to its managed fleet. The vessel, built by Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., is chartered by Kagoshima Senpaku Kaisha, Ltd. on a bareboat charter and will be the first LNG-fuelled car carrier on the Japan-Southeast Asia route, primarily transporting Toyota vehicles.

Key Features of TRANS HARMONY GREEN

  • Overall length: ~195 meters
  • Breadth: ~30.6 meters
  • Gross tonnage: ~49,500
  • Capacity: Can transport 3,000 passenger cars
  • Dual-fuel engines: Capable of running on LNG or diesel, providing:
    • 25% CO₂ reduction compared to similar fuel oil-powered ships.
    • Near-zero SOₓ (sulfur oxides) emissions, significantly lowering environmental impact.

This is the first of two sister vessels under BSM Singapore’s management for the owner. The second, TRANS HARMONY EMERALD, will join the fleet later this year.
