AtoB@C Shipping reports that it received Terramar in Goa, India, on March 14, 2025. This is the midpoint of the company’s ambitious newbuilding program, as Terramar is the sixth ship in a series of twelve 5,400 dwt plug-in hybrid ships.

Sustainable and Efficient Vessel Design

Similar to its sister ships, Terramar boasts state-of-the-art hybrid propulsion and shore power connections. With a deadweight of 5,400 and an ice class of 1A, the ship is capable of year-round operations in the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe. Its state-of-the-art battery technology enables emission-free and silent port calls, cutting CO₂ emissions per cargo unit by almost 50% compared to the next generation of ships.

Commitment to Sustainable Shipping

“The delivery of Terramar is a significant achievement for AtoB@C Shipping as we have reached the halfway point in our newbuilding program. It reflects the hard work and commitment of our entire team. We are proud to lead the way in sustainable shipping,” says Frida Rowland, Commercial Director and Head of BU Coasters at ESL Shipping and AtoB@C Shipping.

Newbuilding Program on Track

The newbuilding program is proceeding according to plan. One vessel will be delivered every quarter up to autumn 2026. The seventh vessel in the series, Biomar, was launched on March 2. The steel-cutting ceremony for the eleventh vessel, Megamar, was celebrated in February.
