Nominate maritime welfare heroes for Seafarers Awards

  • The Mission to Seafarers is now inviting nominations for the International Seafarers Awards 2025, which celebrates contributions to seafarer welfare.

  • The event will be held on Friday, 31st October 2025, at the Fairmont Singapore Hotel.

  • Nominations close on 7th July 2025, with awards covering seafarers, shore staff, cadets, rescue operations, innovation, and sustained welfare efforts.

  • Now in its eighth year, the awards have become a prominent event in the Singapore maritime calendar.

The Mission to Seafarers has officially opened nominations for the 2025 edition of its International Seafarers Awards, a globally respected recognition program that applauds individuals and organizations dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of seafarers.

Scheduled for 31st October 2025, the awards ceremony will take place at the prestigious Fairmont Singapore Hotel, marking the eighth year of this celebrated event in the maritime calendar. The nomination deadline is 7th July 2025.

A Night of Tribute and Networking

Held as a grand gala dinner, the event brings together maritime professionals from across the globe in a vibrant evening of recognition and connection. It provides a unique platform to pay tribute to the backbone of the maritime industry — the seafarers — and those who support them on shore.

Award Categories for 2025

Nominations are open across the following categories:

  • Seafarer Award – Honors a seafarer who has significantly contributed to welfare at sea.
  • Shore-based Award – Recognising a shore-based individual making a major impact on seafarer welfare.
  • Cadet Award – Celebrating a cadet or trainee who has positively influenced seafarer well-being.
  • Innovation Award – For companies implementing new programmes or projects that advance seafarer welfare.
  • Rescue Award – Acknowledging captains or crews involved in life-saving rescue missions.
  • Secretary General Award – Awarded for consistent and long-term efforts to improve conditions for seafarers at sea or ashore.
