On 11th April 2025, the People’s Republic of China Ministry of Transport formally appointed Mr Zhao Yan as President and Deputy Party Secretary at the China Classification Society (CCS), reports LinkedIn.
Transition of Leadership at CCS HQ
The appointment was announced at a leadership conference at CCS headquarters in Beijing. Mr. Zhao replaces Mr. Sun Feng, who resigned from his positions as President and Party Committee member. Both Mr Zhao and Mr Sun addressed the meeting. Mr. Cai Yanxian also spoke on behalf of the CCS Party Committee.
Ministry Outlines Strategic Priorities
Mr. Lin Qiang, Deputy Director of the Ministry’s Personnel and Education Department, spoke to the audience and introduced five strategic priorities for the incoming leadership team. They are:
- Strengthening political leadership
- Advancing talent development
- Enhancing internal governance
- Supporting maritime innovation
- Contributing to China’s broader strategy of building a strong transportation nation
