Swedish ship designer FKAB has announced the successful delivery of Fure Victoria, the 15th vessel in the innovative Fure Vinga series, from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard. This advanced FKAB T24 C1 tanker joins the fleet commissioned by Furetank and its partners in the Gothia Tanker Alliance, as reported by Clean Shipping International.
Fure Victoria will be operated under a joint venture between Sweden-based Furetank and Canadian shipping company Algoma, continuing their collaboration on sustainable and efficient maritime solutions.
High-Performance, Eco-Friendly Design
The FKAB T24 Vinga design meets IMO Tier III standards and is tailored for optimal fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and operational flexibility. It features a medium-speed dual-fuel engine connected via a gearbox to a controllable pitch propeller (CPP) in a nozzle, with PTI/PTO and shaft generator integration. These enhancements aim to minimize fuel use and maximize propulsion efficiency.
The tanker can carry up to six cargo grades simultaneously and is capable of transporting products with a density of up to 1.52 tons/m³. Its hull form is optimized for low resistance, and the vessel is built to Ice Class 1A specifications, ensuring performance in cold climates.
A Step Forward in Sustainable Shipping
The Vinga series is recognized for setting new standards in energy efficiency and cargo performance. With the addition of Fure Victoria, FKAB, Furetank, and their partners reinforce their commitment to a greener and more advanced maritime sector.
