Victrol, a leading logistics company based in Antwerp, has strengthened its fleet with the addition of a new tanker barge, the MTS Havana, highlighting its commitment to innovation and regulatory compliance.
Successful Seatrials and Fleet Integration
The MTS Havana, a 6,400-metric-tonne tanker barge, recently completed successful seatrials. Measuring 135 meters in length and 15 meters in width, the vessel has now officially joined Victrol’s operational fleet.
“We are very proud to welcome her as the newest member in our fleet,” the company announced on its website.
Advanced Equipment for Future-Ready Operations
The MTS Havana is equipped with a bunkerboom, a specialized loading arm for ship-to-ship bunkering operations, and a Mass Flow Meter (MFM) system.
MFMs enhance fuel delivery operations by providing precise measurements, improving efficiency, and ensuring greater transparency during bunkering.
Strategic Deployment in the ARA and Rhine Regions
The MTS Havana will be operating across the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region and the Rhine River.
Its MFM capabilities align with upcoming regulatory changes: starting in 2026, the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp-Bruges will mandate the use of MFMs for bunker deliveries from barges exceeding 300 gross tons.
