Small Craft Collides With Merchant Vessel Off UAE Coast

UAE Maritime authorities received a report of a collision involving a small craft and a merchant vessel approximately 80 nautical miles northwest of Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. No injuries were reported among the crew, but the event raised security concerns in the area.

Attempted Collisions and Suspicious VHF Communications

Following the collision, the small craft was observed trying to approach other nearby vessels. The merchant vessel’s crew also received VHF communications from individuals claiming to be local authorities, urging them to stop and allow boarding. Authorities have not confirmed the legitimacy of these messages.

Security Advisory Issued for Vessels in the Area

The crew from the small craft was later seen transferring safely to another boat, and the affected vessel remained in the vicinity before continuing to its next destination. Maritime authorities have advised all ships in the region to exercise heightened caution and report any unusual activity immediately.
