  • Brazilian regulators have approved MSC’s acquisition of a 56% stake in Wilson Sons for $760 million.
  • This acquisition improves MSC’s transport capabilities in Brazil, expanding its presence in the domestic and regional markets.

Brazilian authorities have approved MSC’s acquisition of a majority stake in Wilson Sons, clearing the last regulatory hurdle for the deal. MSC first announced its plan in October 2024 to acquire 56% of Wilson Sons from Ocean Wilson Holdings, a move that had been anticipated in the industry since 2023.

Despite interest from other bidders, MSC secured the deal for $760 million. After completing the initial purchase, MSC will initiate a public tender offer for the remaining shares, bringing the total transaction value to around $1.35 billion. This acquisition strengthens MSC’s presence in Brazil, building on its 2021 purchase of Log-In Logistica and further expanding its domestic and regional transport operations.
