The International Propeller Club has expanded its global presence with the official launch of its Norwegian branch. Designed to unite professionals from shipping, ports, energy, law, finance, and technology, the Propeller Club of Norway will serve as a collaborative platform to strengthen Norway’s impact in the international maritime sector. Rooted locally and connected globally, the Club seeks to advance the maritime industry through dialogue, networking, and partnership, according to the American Journal of Transportation.

A New Hub for Maritime Stakeholders

With committees established across various regions in Norway, the Club is well-positioned to become a central hub for the maritime community. By connecting experts and organizations from all corners of the industry, it aims to facilitate business growth and innovation both locally and internationally.

A Global Legacy Reimagined

Founded in 1922 and rebranded as The International Propeller Club two years ago, the Club is modeled after the historic Lloyd’s coffee houses—centers where maritime professionals forged critical business relationships in the 18th century. Its mission remains focused on bringing together the global maritime community through purposeful engagement and cooperation.

Industry Leaders Welcome the Launch

Dr. Sinem Ogis, President and Founder of the Propeller Club of Norway, emphasized the Club’s collaborative role, stating: “The Propeller Club’s value lies in its ability to serve as a common platform where stakeholders can engage in meaningful dialogue and build lasting B2B connections. We believe in the simple truth that no shipping means no shopping. Trade must go on, through cooperation, innovation, and global dialogue.”

The launch has garnered enthusiastic support from industry leaders. Yannis Litinas, Partner at Simonsen Vogt Wiig, remarked: “We are glad to add a sharp blade to the propeller of the Club’s new ship,” recognizing the energy the new branch brings to Norway’s maritime scene.

Sidsel Norvik, Director of Nor-Shipping, also voiced strong support, stating: “We are excited about the Propeller Club in Norway being launched at Nor-Shipping, and are cheering for this valuable initiative bringing the maritime community together and strengthening international collaboration.”

Building Global Bridges

Through this launch, the Propeller Club aims to bridge the local and international maritime communities by expanding professional networks and enhancing cooperation. With historical ties to the United States and global maritime centers, the Norwegian branch aims to foster collaboration and innovation.

Egil Legland, ABS Manager, Norway Business Development, shared ABS’s support: “ABS is committed to safety excellence in maritime and to working with our members, clients, and partners to deliver this. It is only by working together that the industry advances, and we fully support the important connecting role of the Propeller Club internationally and welcome the launch of the Norwegian branch.”

Karl Arthur Bræin, CFO of H2Carrier, echoed this sentiment, saying: “The Propeller Club plays a unique and important role in bringing together the maritime community, not only as a platform for dialogue in Norway, but as a bridge that strengthens international partnerships and trade. H2Carrier is proud to support the Club’s mission and values, and we see its work as essential in driving innovation, sustainability, and stronger global ties within the shipping and energy sectors.”

With strong backing from maritime stakeholders, the Propeller Club of Norway is poised to become a vital force in shaping the future of global maritime collaboration.
