Yinson GreenTech and RMS Marine & Offshore Service (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) at Nor-Shipping 2025 in Norway, marking a significant step toward electrifying maritime operations within Singapore’s port limits.

The partnership will focus on deploying electric vessels and leveraging digital technologies to support more transparent and sustainable logistics.

Electric Vessels and Digital Monitoring for Greener Ports

Under the LOI, RMS plans to collaborate with Yinson GreenTech to integrate electric vessels into its operations. Yinson GreenTech will oversee the operation and maintenance of the vessels, ensuring reliability and performance. In addition, both companies will work together to enhance logistics transparency using a Marine Digital Platform, allowing data-driven monitoring and optimization.

Executives from both sides highlighted the importance of this collaboration. Jan-Viggo Johansen of Yinson GreenTech emphasized their commitment to bringing cleaner, smarter fleet solutions to market. Cindy Fan of RMS stressed that this initiative aligns with Singapore’s broader goals of reducing carbon emissions and building resilient supply chains.

Hydromover Trial Demonstrates Operational Readiness

The LOI follows the successful live trial of the Hydromover, Yinson GreenTech’s electric harbour craft, which was deployed on May 23 at Sudong Special Purpose Anchorage. The trial involved transporting light cargo and demonstrated the vessel’s strong performance in real conditions. The Hydromover’s success highlights its potential as a net-zero alternative for port operations and reflects the growing viability of electric maritime technologies in daily logistics.

This partnership between Yinson GreenTech and RMS marks a key milestone in Singapore’s journey toward sustainable maritime operations. By combining clean vessel technology with digital innovation, both companies are setting the stage for more efficient, low-emission port logistics. The success of the Hydromover trial reinforces the feasibility of electric solutions, paving the way for wider adoption of green technologies in the region’s maritime sector.
