Hanwha Ocean, in collaboration with SIGA Data Security, has developed a specialized Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity solution aimed at strengthening protection for critical systems on floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units. The solution recently received approval in principle (AIP) from ABS, following a thorough design review aligned with class and statutory requirements.

This development forms part of a broader multi-year Offshore Technology Collaboration Agreement between ABS and Hanwha Ocean, focusing on advancing sustainability, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and OT cybersecurity in offshore operations. The new solution is designed to offer enhanced process-level visibility, real-time threat detection, and remote operational oversight, meeting the stringent compliance needs of offshore environments. According to a report by Cision News, the AIP recognition not only highlights the innovation behind the project but also enhances Hanwha Ocean’s position in future FPSO contracts where cybersecurity is a key requirement.
