Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), led by President & CEO Takeshi Hashimoto, announced today, July 3, 2025, the establishment of MOL Bay Links Co., Ltd. This new holding company is designed to strengthen the foundation of the MOL Group’s tugboat services.
Strategic Restructuring
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) has announced a strategic restructuring of its tugboat service business with the establishment of MOL Bay Links Co., Ltd. This new entity, which commenced operations on July 1, 2025, will function as a group-wide holding company for MOL’s tugboat services.
Effective July 1, MOL transferred all the shares it held in three key tugboat operators to MOL Bay Links:
- Nihon Tug-Boat Co., Ltd. (President: Keizo Tamura; Headquarters: Kobe-shi, Hyogo)
- Green Shipping, Ltd. (President: Koji Tsue; Headquarters: Kitakyushu-shi, Fukuoka)
- Green Kaiji Kaisha, Ltd. (President: Nobuo Tsuboi; Headquarters: Nagoya-shi, Aichi)
The primary objective behind the establishment of MOL Bay Links is to optimize the organization and enhance group-wide competitiveness within MOL’s tugboat services. This move is designed to create a more unified and efficient management structure while simultaneously ensuring that the regional initiatives and strengths of Nihon Tug-Boat, Green Shipping, Green Kaiji Kaisha, and their respective subsidiaries are maintained and leveraged.
