TMC Compressors has secured a contract to supply marine compressed air systems for three new shuttle tankers being built by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) for Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT). Each vessel, classified as a suezmax DP2 shuttle tanker with a cargo capacity of 154,000 dwt, will be equipped with control and service air compressors as part of the delivery. Hans-Petter Tanum, TMC’s director of sales and business development, highlighted the company’s longstanding relationship with COSCO Zhoushan, noting their experience with the shipyard’s operational standards and quality expectations. He expressed confidence in the continued collaboration on the new shuttle tanker builds.

TMC specializes in designing marine compressed air systems exclusively for offshore and marine applications, with a focus on delivering equipment that can be easily maintained by vessel crews while at sea. Tanum also emphasized the significance of working with Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers, the world’s largest shuttle tanker operator, stating that being selected as a supplier is a point of pride for the company.
