Anemoi Marine Technologies has officially inaugurated its advanced Rotor Sail manufacturing facility in Jingjiang City, Jiangsu Province—an ambitious move that significantly scales up the company’s production capacity and commitment to decarbonizing global shipping.
Strategic Location for Efficient Deployment
Located along the Yangtze River within Daming Heavy Industry’s manufacturing base, the facility benefits from direct access to port infrastructure and barge transport, enabling smooth logistics and immediate delivery to major Chinese shipyards. The facility is equipped to assemble, test, and dispatch up to 250 Rotor Sails per year, with further expansion potential.
Fully Integrated Production Hub
“This facility is more than a production site—it’s an end-to-end, quality-first hub where steel fabrication, assembly, and testing happen under one roof,” said Clare Urmston, CEO of Anemoi. The site also accommodates the company’s full suite of deployment systems, including Fixed, Folding, and Rail configurations, and allows for full-speed testing and commissioning prior to delivery.
Deepening Ties in China
Anemoi has operated in China since 2018, establishing a formal presence in 2021 under Anemoi Marine Technologies (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. It has since cultivated key partnerships, notably with CRRC Qishuyan Institute Co., Ltd., a CRRC subsidiary specializing in high-end transport and clean energy equipment. Together, they co-developed the new Jingjiang facility, bringing advanced manufacturing and stringent quality standards to Anemoi’s wind propulsion systems.
Enhanced Component Manufacturing
In collaboration with Lianyungang Zhongfu Lianzhong Composite Material Group Co., Ltd., Anemoi produces durable composite rotor skins using a patented filament winding process. The skins are rigorously tested and painted before being sent to Jingjiang for final assembly.

Partnering exclusively with Daming Heavy Industries, a global leader in precision steel services, Anemoi gains a strategic manufacturing advantage.

The facility enhances Anemoi’s capability to meet soaring demand for wind propulsion and aligns with international emissions reduction targets. The collaboration with CRRC also supports China’s clean energy strategy, reinforcing Anemoi’s role in shaping a sustainable maritime future.
