Fincantieri, a prominent player in the world of complex shipbuilding, gathered influential figures from government, industry, and the national security sector for the event titled FULL SPEED AHEAD: The U.S. Shipbuilding Renaissance in Washington, D.C. The forum was designed to delve into strategies for revitalising and securing the future of American maritime strength, reports Fincantieri.

Leadership Reaffirms Commitment to U.S. Maritime Industry

The event kicked off with speeches from George Moutafis, the newly appointed CEO of Fincantieri Marine Group (FMG), and Jan Allman, CEO of Fincantieri Marinette Marine. They underscored the company’s long-standing investment in the United States.

They pointed out Fincantieri’s “System of Shipyards” located in Marinette, Sturgeon Bay, Green Bay, and Florida, which together employ over 3,000 workers and play a crucial role in revitalising the Midwest’s industrial landscape.

An expert panel discussion, led by Vice Adm. Rick Hunt, President of Fincantieri Marinette Marine (FMM), included:

  3. Dr. Stacie Pettyjohn (Centre for a New American Security)

The discussion focused on how the U.S. can rebuild a strong, independent shipbuilding base to meet the increasing challenges in national defence and maritime security.
