  • The transaction is scheduled for completion by late 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions.

Wärtsilä has announced plans to sell its Marine Electrical Systems business to VINCI Energies, a global provider of multi-technical services for sectors such as energy, transport, IT, and infrastructure. Marine Electrical Systems specializes in integrating complex electrical systems onboard vessels, connecting both Wärtsilä’s and shipyard-supplied equipment into a unified electrical network.

Operating independently under Wärtsilä’s Portfolio Business, the division reported annual revenues of EUR 100 million in 2024. The divestment includes Wärtsilä SAM Electronics GmbH and associated assets tied to an ongoing project in Brazil. According to Wärtsilä, the move is aligned with its strategy to enhance performance and realize value through selective divestments. The transaction, subject to necessary approvals, is expected to close in the final quarter of 2025.
