  • Sea-Intelligence’s Global Liner Performance (GLP) report (Issue 167) shows schedule reliability rose to 67.4% in June 2025—its highest since November 2023.
  • Maersk led top carriers with 81.0% reliability, while Yang Ming recorded the lowest at 55.4%.
  • Among alliances, Gemini Cooperation topped the charts with over 90% reliability across both “All arrivals” and “Trade arrivals.”

Sea-Intelligence has released its latest Global Liner Performance (GLP) report, offering detailed insight into global container shipping schedule reliability for June 2025. Spanning 120 pages, the report analyzes over 60 carriers and 34 trade lanes. According to the report, global schedule reliability improved by 1.6 percentage points month-over-month, reaching 67.4%—the highest performance level seen since November 2023. Compared to the same period last year, reliability rose by 12.8 percentage points, continuing a trend of steady improvement since February 2025.

Carrier-Level Performance: Maersk Maintains Leadership

Among the top 13 carriers, Maersk emerged as the most reliable, achieving an on-time performance of 81.0% in June. Hapag-Lloyd followed with 76.5%. Most other carriers recorded schedule reliability between 60% and 70%, with the lowest performance posted by Yang Ming at 55.4%.

Alliance Comparisons Adjusted for New Structures

Due to structural changes in alliance configurations earlier this year, Sea-Intelligence continues to report two performance metrics: “All arrivals,” which includes calls in both origin and destination regions, and “Trade arrivals,” which focuses solely on destination region arrivals (used in prior alliance comparisons). The report notes that as the new alliances become fully operational, both metrics are expected to converge.

Gemini Cooperation Leads New Alliances in Reliability

Gemini Cooperation recorded exceptional performance, with 93.2% reliability for “All arrivals” and 91.0% for “Trade arrivals.” MSC followed with 74.8% and 75.7% respectively. Meanwhile, Premier Alliance trailed significantly, scoring 58.0% and 55.5% across the two measures. Among the legacy alliances, Ocean Alliance achieved a consistent 71.0% for both “All” and “Trade” arrivals, reflecting continued stability in its operations.

Overall, the latest figures reinforce positive momentum in liner schedule performance, driven by improved operational discipline and gradual adaptation to the restructured alliance landscape.
