SITC Joins “Green” Power Revolution to Drive Sustainable Shipping

On August 6, 2025, at the 2025 Science-Based Targets Development Forum, SITC Shipping President Ji Wenguang signed the “Joint Initiative to Lead the ‘Green’ Power Revolution: Working Together to Create a New Future for Sustainable Fuels.” This action signifies SITC’s commitment to low-carbon development in global shipping and its entry into the Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance.

The initiative, launched by key industry players including China Power Engineering Consulting Group, COSCO Shipping Specialized Transport, and CIMC Enric Holdings, aims to address the systemic challenges of sustainable fuels. It focuses on tackling issues related to policy, technology, and supply chains through cross-sector collaboration.

SITC’s Commitment to Sustainability

As part of its commitment, SITC has pledged to accelerate the use of sustainable fuels and optimize the energy-efficiency design of its vessels. The company also plans to implement a full life-cycle carbon management system, with the goal of significantly increasing its use of low-carbon fuels by 2030. Additionally, SITC will collaborate with partners to create green supply chains and support the establishment of international green shipping corridors, emphasizing that the green transition is both a responsibility and an opportunity.
