  • The Kota Ocean received 4,000 cbm of LNG from TotalEnergies’ bunkering vessel Brassavola.
  • The vessel is part of PIL’s O Class series, designed for lower emissions and future alternative fuels.
  • PIL has 12 more vessels under construction for delivery in the next few years.

Singapore’s Pacific International Lines (PIL) has completed its first simultaneous cargo handling and LNG bunkering operation, marking a step forward in operational efficiency and environmental performance. The milestone was shared by the company on August 11 through its official social media channels, according to Offshore Energy.

Milestone Operation at PSA Singapore’s Brani Terminal

The operation was carried out at PSA Singapore’s Brani Terminal, where TotalEnergies’ bunkering vessel Brassavola delivered 4,000 cubic meters of LNG to PIL’s 8,200 TEU LNG dual-fuel containership Kota Ocean while cargo loading continued. Delivered in June 2025, Kota Ocean is the sixth alternative-fuel vessel in PIL’s fleet and the second in a planned series of four O Class LNG dual-fuel containerships.

Operating on the South West Africa service (SWS) route, the vessel connects ports in China, Singapore, and West Africa. Built with Win-GD’s XDF engines featuring Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling (iCER) technology, the ship is designed to reduce methane emissions and can use greener bio-methane fuels. The O Class ships also include ammonia intermediate-ready fuel tanks. PIL has 12 more vessels under construction, including two 8,200 TEU, five 13,000 TEU, and five 9,000 TEU ships, scheduled for delivery in the coming years.
