Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co Ltd (DSOC) and China Bunker have teamed up to sign a contract for the construction of a 20,000 cubic metre (m³) LNG bunkering vessel, reports Manifold Times.

About China Bunker

According to their WeChat profile, China Bunker is dedicated to green marine fuel bunkering. Their mission is to build clean energy infrastructure across China and the Asia-Pacific region, all while promoting a low-carbon shift in the shipping industry.

Vessel Specifications and Capabilities

This 138-metre-long vessel will mark a significant milestone as China’s first independently developed ship featuring a membrane-type cargo containment system. It’s designed to comply with the latest IMO environmental standards and will be ready for LNG bunkering at major ports worldwide.

The vessel will boast advanced system integration capabilities, providing comprehensive bunkering support services for complete LNG operations, including inerting, cold tank pretreatment, and gas testing. Plus, it will have interfaces for future ammonia bunkering, ensuring flexibility for multiple fuel types.

Project Classification

The project will be classified by the China Classification Society, guaranteeing adherence to international safety and performance standards.
