KCCI Drops 2.91% Amid Steep Decline in Ex-Busan Rates to Europe, US

The latest KOBC Container Composite Index (KCCI) stood at 2,069 points on Monday, according to Korea Ocean Business Corp. (KOBC). The composite index fell 2.91% from a week earlier as spot rates for container exports from Busan to Europe and the U.S. remained on the decline, reports JIFFA.

The individual KCCIs decreased across the board on the main lanes, going down 2.92% to $2,029 per FEU to the U.S. West Coast, 5.57% to $3,222 per FEU to the U.S. East Coast, 2.21% to $3,278 per FEU to Europe and 2.98% to $3,291 per FEU to the Mediterranean.

On the non-main lanes, the KCCIs picked up 3.98% to $2,191 per FEU to Australia, 1.12% to $2,803 per FEU to the west coast of Latin America and 0.76% to $3,851 per FEU to Southern Africa. In contrast, the KCCIs slid 1.33% to $2,449 per FEU to the Middle East, 8.67% to $4,790 per FEU to the east coast of Latin America and 1.2% to $4,612 per FEU to West Africa.

In the intra-Asia waters, the KCCIs improved 4.76% to $220 per FEU to Japan but waned 1.51% to $979 per FEU to Southeast Asia and 1.96% to $50 per FEU to China.
