COSCO Shipping Ports Reports 5.6% Year-to-Date Growth in Container Throughput

COSCO Shipping Ports Limited recorded steady growth in July 2025, with container throughput excluding Qingdao Ports International (QPI) and Container Terminal Tollerort (CTT) rising 3.9% year-on-year to 10,053.5 thousand TEU. Year-to-date volumes also advanced by 5.6% to 66,724.5 thousand TEU, according to report published by Port News.

In China, container volumes showed steady momentum, with the Bohai Rim region posting a 4.5% increase and the Southwest Coast advancing 7.6% in July. The company’s overseas portfolio, excluding CTT, delivered stronger growth of 8.7%, driven by a 21.1% surge at CSP Zeebrugge Terminal NV, which handled 78.2 thousand TEU during the month. 

Subsidiaries reported a 0.6% rise in throughput, while non-subsidiary terminals excluding QPI and CTT expanded by 5.3%. Overall, China’s portfolio throughput increased 1.9%, and overseas operations, excluding CTT, gained 8.7%. COSCO Shipping Ports noted that total throughput, excluding QPI and CTT, continued its positive trajectory with 3.9% year-on-year growth in July.
