In a recent business move, Vopak Terquimsa, a joint venture with a 50% stake held by Vopak, has sold its Barcelona terminal to Tradebe Port Services.
Divestment and Strategic Focus
The Barcelona terminal, which was used for storing petroleum products, chemicals, and vegetable oils, was considered less strategically important for Vopak. This divestment allows Vopak to focus on more attractive assets. The company will maintain its 50% ownership in Vopak Terquimsa Tarragona, a terminal that is located in a key industrial cluster in Spain.
Financial Impact
Vopak anticipates a one-time exceptional gain from this divestment, which will be reported in the third quarter of 2025. The company has stated that the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on its overall financial outlook for 2025.
