The IBIA Annual Convention will be held from November 18-20, 2025, at the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition & Convention Centre. The event, a key part of Hong Kong Maritime Week, will gather marine fuels industry stakeholders to discuss the future of bunkering and marine energy.
Key Speakers and Sessions
The convention will open with welcome addresses from IBIA leaders Constantinos Capetanakis and Alexander Prokopakis. Keynote speeches will be delivered by Mable Chan, Hong Kong’s Secretary for Transport and Logistics, and Angad Banga, Chair of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association. A message from Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, will also be shared.
Over the three-day event, panels and sessions will cover critical industry topics, including alternative fuels, decarbonization, and digitalization. Notable speakers will include Bud Darr of CLIA, Guido Cardullo of Fratelli Cosulich, and Richard Ho of ONE.
Pre-Convention Workshops
On November 18, two training workshops will be offered. The Alternative Fuels Training will provide practical insights into new fuel pathways like biofuels, LNG, and methanol. A separate Mass Flow Meter (MFM) Workshop, in collaboration with Metcore International, will focus on system integrity and operational best practices to build trust and transparency in bunkering.
The event is supported by several industry leaders, including Chimbusco Pan Nation Petro-Chemical Co Ltd as the Diamond Sponsor. The convention will also feature high-level networking opportunities, including a dinner reception at the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel.
