Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has expanded its portfolio by taking on the technical management of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) for the first time. The vessel, operated by BSM’s specialized LNG arm Pronav, marks a key step in the group’s growth within the LNG sector, as announced by BS Shipmanagement.
The FSRU Turquoise P, built in 2019 and owned by Pardus Energy Ltd., is stationed at the Etki Liman LNG terminal in Türkiye’s Aegean Sea near Izmir. Measuring 294 meters in length and holding a cargo capacity of 170,000 cbm, the vessel plays a critical role in ensuring energy supply reliability for the region. Pronav, based in Hamburg, will oversee the unit’s technical management, extending its decades of experience with LNG carriers to the FSRU sector.
According to Pronav Managing Director Martin Roolvink, this milestone reflects the company’s expertise, strong safety record, and ability to meet the LNG industry’s stringent standards. FSRUs serve as floating facilities that receive, store, and regasify LNG for shore delivery, making them vital to energy networks during periods of peak demand. With only about 50 such units in operation globally—and very few under third-party management—Pronav’s involvement strengthens its position as a trusted partner among energy majors, LNG charterers, and terminal operators worldwide.
