At the “2025 Joint Luncheon cum Award Presentation Ceremony” on August 29, 2025, Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) was honored with three awards from the Hong Kong Marine Department and the Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA).
The Awards
The awards OOCL received were:
- Hong Kong Shipping Registry (HKSR) 35th Anniversary Longstanding Partnership Award: This special award was given to companies that have consistently supported the Hong Kong Flag since its inception 35 years ago. OOCL was among the companies recognized for this long-term partnership.
- Award for outstanding performance in Port State Control (PSC) for the year of 2024: This award acknowledges OOCL’s expertise in ship management and its consistent dedication to maintaining high-quality operational standards, as demonstrated by its performance in Port State Control inspections.
- Award for Company Recruiting the Most Hong Kong Sea-going Cadets in 2024: OOCL received this award for its ongoing commitment to fostering young maritime talent and supporting the development of a future workforce in Hong Kong’s maritime sector. OOCL has received this award on a number of occasions in the past.
Event Significance
The annual event is a key occasion in the maritime industry, bringing together representatives and distinguished guests to celebrate the achievements of shipowners and shipping companies. It also serves to promote the services and reputation of the HKSR and the HKSOA.
