Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc., the Philippine arm of Japan’s Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., has completed the delivery of a Kamsarmax bulk carrier from its West Cebu Estate shipyard, as reported in a recent update published by IAA PortNews.
The newly delivered vessel measures about 229 meters in overall length, with a molded breadth of 32.26 meters, molded depth of 20.15 meters, a deadweight of roughly 82,400 metric tons, and a gross tonnage of 44,000. Designed as the largest Panamax-type vessel capable of calling at Kamsar Port in Guinea, the Kamsarmax class is suited for carrying iron ore, coal, grains, and hot-rolled steel coils.
Tsuneishi identifies this class as its flagship product, having delivered more than 400 units and maintaining a leading market share. While the company has not disclosed the vessel’s name or owner, it continues to advance new technologies, including its July 2025 launch of the world’s first methanol dual-fuelled Kamsarmax, scheduled for maiden voyage in January 2026. Tsuneishi’s Cebu yard, operational since 1994, remains a key contributor to the group’s shipbuilding activities, with a workforce of nearly 8,300 staff and partner employees.
