Switzerland-based RoRo cargo shipping company Sallaum Lines has unveiled its first LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), the Ocean Breeze, in the port of Antwerp, Belgium. The ceremony took place on September 19, 2025, at Sallaum Terminal, which recently completed a €20 million expansion to increase its capacity from 10,000 to 17,000 CEU.

Vessel Specifications and Sustainability

The Ocean Breeze is a next-generation 7,500 CEU PCTC built by Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding in China. It was delivered four months ahead of schedule on July 18, 2025. The vessel is powered by dual-fuel LNG engines, which are designed to deliver a substantial reduction in CO2, NOx, and particulate emissions compared to conventional ships. Its optimized hull design and energy-saving devices further enhance efficiency.

The Ocean Breeze is the first of six LNG dual-fuel PCTCs that will join the Sallaum Lines fleet by 2027, adding over 45,000 CEU in capacity. This fleet expansion, combined with the company’s investments in shore power connections and solar energy at its terminal, is part of Sallaum Lines’ global green logistics network and its ambition to achieve a net-zero status by 2030.
