Lloyd’s Register And Oceanco Partner On World’s Largest Yacht Support Vessel

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has entered into a landmark agreement with Oceanco to provide classification and certification services for what is set to become the world’s largest yacht support vessel. The contract was signed during the Monaco Yacht Show at Port Hercule, in the presence of the Yacht Club de Monaco, marking a new milestone in luxury yachting and maritime innovation.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Experience

The collaboration builds upon a 38-year relationship between LR and Oceanco, underscoring their shared commitment to quality and innovation. The new vessel, which will be built to LR class, is expected to exceed 100 metres in length. It will feature extended operational range, heavy-duty logistics capability, and advanced energy-efficient systems designed for future integration of alternative fuels.

Innovation, Safety, and Sustainability at the Core

Engel-Jan de Boer, Yacht Segment Director at LR, emphasized that the partnership reflects “a shared pursuit of excellence,” while Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout highlighted the ambition behind the project. Under the stewardship of Gabe Newell, the vessel is being designed to push boundaries in scale, design, innovation, and sustainability, while maintaining uncompromising standards of safety and quality.
