Freight rates on major routes from Ningbo rose sharply this week, driven by a rebound in cargo volumes and improving demand across European and Mediterranean markets, reports Baltic Exchange.
According to the Ningbo Shipping Exchange, the Ningbo Containerised Freight Index (NCFI) showed strong weekly growth across all four key trade routes, with the Europe and Mediterranean lanes leading the surge.
| Route | 31-10-2025 | 24-10-2025 | Weekly change (%) |
| Ningbo – Europe | 965.62 | 822.30 | 17.43 |
| Ningbo – West Mediterranean | 1249.08 | 989.35 | 26.25 |
| Ningbo – East Mediterranean | 982.71 | 719.37 | 36.31 |
| Ningbo – Middle East | 1198.68 | 1155.52 | 3.74 |
The latest report underscores renewed momentum in the container shipping market as year-end demand and inventory restocking continue to drive upward pressure on freight rates.
