World’s Largest Ultra-Low Temperature Refrigerated Cargo Ships “XIN XIANG LI 55” And “XIN XIANG LI 56”

China Classification Society (CCS) Zhoushan Office has announced the successful delivery of two 9,000 DWT ultra-low temperature refrigerated cargo ships XIN XIANG LI 55 and XIN XIANG LI 56. Built by Zhoushan Ningshing Ship Building & Repairing Co., Ltd., these vessels mark a major milestone in the global refrigerated shipping sector, setting new standards for capacity and temperature performance.

Advanced Design for High-Value Cargo

The two vessels, each measuring 143.49 meters in length, are designed for unrestricted ocean-going operations. They feature an impressive refrigerated compartment capacity of approximately 11,500 cubic meters. The ships employ a three-tier temperature control system upper, middle, and lower zones supported by advanced coil cooling technology. This enables the cargo holds to maintain ultra-low temperatures of up to -55°C, making them ideal for transporting high-value seafood such as tuna and other temperature-sensitive products across long distances.

Strict Quality Control and Technical Excellence

Throughout the construction process, CCS’s Zhoushan Office maintained rigorous quality oversight from hull assembly and equipment installation to low-temperature performance testing and sea trials. The project team ensured full compliance with international maritime safety and classification standards. Despite the project’s scale and technical complexity, CCS engineers provided continuous technical support, helping the shipyard overcome bottlenecks and achieve smooth, timely delivery.

The successful completion and delivery of XIN XIANG LI 55 and XIN XIANG LI 56 highlight China’s growing shipbuilding expertise in specialized vessel construction.
