Boluda Corporación Marítima stands firmly at the top of Spain’s container shipping sector, controlling more than half of the total capacity deployed by the country’s Top-5 carriers about 26,000 TEU in total.

The Valencia-based company, the oldest among Spanish carriers, operates a fleet of 18 container and multi-purpose vessels with a combined capacity of 14,000 TEU.

Second Place: MARGUISA SHIPPING LINES

MARGUISA ranks a distant second, trailing Boluda by almost 9,000 TEU. It operates four vessels ranging from 250 to 3,650 TEU, serving routes across the West Mediterranean, West Africa, and intra-Africa. Its flagship deep-sea service is the Med–West Africa MAS loop, run jointly with CMA CGM (EURAF 4).

Third Place: Grupo JSV

Grupo JSV secures the third position with a fleet of four container ships totalling 3,335 TEU. Its primary operation is a Turkey–Spain–Canary Islands loop served by three 750–800 TEU vessels. Earlier this year, the company acquired its first owned ship after previously relying solely on chartered tonnage.

Fourth Place: NISA Maritima

NISA Maritima ranks fourth, operating two 1,036 TEU ships connecting mainland Spain with the Canary Islands.

Fifth Place: Alisios Shipping Lines

Completing the list is Alisios Shipping Lines, the youngest among Spain’s major carriers. Since launching in 2016, it has operated services between the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands. Its Huelva Canary Islands route received a second vessel this year the 707 TEU AQUARIUS which doubled the frequency to two sailings per week.
