A.P. Moller-Maersk has announced that Charlotte, North Carolina, will become the company’s official North America headquarters. The logistics giant plans to add more than 500 new jobs in the coming years, expanding its current workforce in the city to over 1,300 employees. Maersk has maintained a strong presence in Charlotte for more than 20 years, including purchasing its South Charlotte facility in 2006.

Maersk selected Charlotte due to its competitive business environment, strong talent pipeline, and high living standards. The city offers an affordable market for business expansion while attracting professionals in technology, finance, and logistics key areas for Maersk’s growth.
The new headquarters will host major corporate functions such as finance, human resources, commercial strategy, and technology, strengthening the company’s regional capabilities.

Maersk noted that its North American operations have undergone significant transformation as the company moves toward becoming a fully integrated logistics provider.
