According to the shipbuilder, the Imabari Shipbuilding Group has delivered the 13,900 TEU container vessel ONE Serenity to Ocean Network Express on December 19, 2025, marking another addition to the carrier’s modern fleet.

Vessel specifications and performance

The newly delivered ship measures 335.94 metres in length and 51 metres in beam, with a gross tonnage of 140,233. It is powered by a MAN 7G95ME-C10.6 main engine and achieves a service speed of about 22 knots.
The vessel is registered under the Liberian flag and classed by Lloyd’s Register.

Cargo capacity and operational features

The ship offers a total container capacity of 13,932 TEU. In addition, it is equipped with up to four lashing bridges on deck, which support efficient cargo securing and handling.
Reefer containers can be carried both below deck and on deck, while the vessel also supports the transport of various hazardous cargoes in line with the IMDG Code.

Energy efficiency and emissions control

The builder highlighted that the hull design integrates several energy-saving measures. These include energy-saving devices, a twist rudder, and low-friction hull paint. Together, these features deliver an estimated 60% reduction in the Energy Efficiency Design Index compared with standard reference values. Moreover, a bow wind cover has been installed to improve performance in real sea conditions.

From an environmental perspective, the vessel is fitted with a hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system and an exhaust gas recirculation system. As a result, it complies with current sulphur oxide and nitrogen oxide emission requirements.

Future-ready design

Imabari also confirmed that ONE Serenity has received approval in principle for future conversion to methanol and ammonia fuels. In addition, the design allows for the potential installation of carbon dioxide recovery equipment, supporting long-term decarbonisation pathways.
