  • Three LNG carriers ordered for delivery in 2028–2029
  • Total contract value stands at $769.5 million
  • Order strengthens long-term LNG exposure ahead of supply growth

Capital Clean Energy Carriers Corp. has placed an order for three latest-generation LNG carriers, which will be built at HD Hyundai Samho Co., Ltd.. The vessels will be delivered sequentially, with one unit scheduled for the third quarter of 2028 and the remaining two in the first quarter of 2029. The total en-bloc price for the order is $769.5 million.

Focus on Efficiency and Fleet Growth

The newbuildings will feature upgraded designs aimed at lower fuel consumption and reduced boil-off rates, placing them among the most efficient LNG carriers currently on order. Once delivered, the company’s LNG fleet will expand to 12 vessels in operation and nine on order, reinforcing its position in the LNG transportation market.

Long-Term Strategy Backed by Contracts

The company linked the investment to expectations of rising global LNG supply capacity toward 2030, aligning new deliveries with projected demand growth. Alongside LNG carriers, the fleet expansion also includes gas and multi-gas vessels, with overall operations supported by around $3 billion in contracted revenue and an average charter duration of nearly seven years, providing strong earnings visibility.
