On August 12, a cargo ship ran aground in the Columbia river near Skamokawa, Washington.
The 751-foot cargo ship from Hong Kong left the shipping channel and ran aground about 35 miles from the mouth of the Columbia river, after picking up it’s grain payload from Kalama, Wash.
The Coast Guard responders from Sector Columbia River investigated, and found the ship posed no environmental hazard, and was not blocking other river traffic.
