Iranian Navy repels pirate attack on merchant ship
On October 17, Iran’s Navy reportedly repelled pirate attacks against an Iranian oil tanker.
Reports say that a group of pirates launched three attacks on the oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden, which links the Indian Ocean with the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea.
The Iranian Navy’s 44th Flotilla, comprising Alvand destroyer and Bushehr logistic warship, opened heavy fire resulting in the attackers to flee the scene.
